Programs

Agape serves the neighborhood with a variety of programs designed to strengthen the fabric of the neighborhood.  These range in variety from Back Yard Bible Club for kids to financial education for adults.  Some of these programs are seasonal, like our retreats, and others are fixed like weekly Bible study.

Spiritual Retreats: Several times each year, Agape takes young adults (18-25 yrs old) on trips to clear the chaos and get back in touch with Jesus.  These are particularly fruitful times to watch God at work.

Weekly Bible Study: Both men’s and women’s groups meet each week to share life concerns, pray for each other, and study the Bible.

Life Skills Workshops: During the year, Agape will offer vital training for healthy, independent living either through our staff, volunteers, or a partner ministry.  These include cooking classes, nutrition, personal finances, exercise, conflict resolution, etc.

Individual Counseling: Because of the traumatic conditions, many residents have need of counseling, which we provide.  Our staff has training in pastoral care, spiritual direction, clinical therapy, and even long suffering friendship.  All kinds of counsel are needed.
