The children at Backyard Bible Club enjoyed an entire week filled with Christmas Spirit, but Christmas began weeks beforehand, as the kids participated in community service projects around their neighborhood to earn vouchers to “purchase” a gift for a BBC friend. The service activities included working in the community garden and trash clean-up along Perry and Kingsbury Streets. As you can see in the photos the kids worked hard (and enjoyed it too!). A special thanks to West University Baptist and Crosspoint Churches for providing gifts for the kids to give to one another!

To begin Christmas week at BBC, the kids traveled to the assisted living center to sing carols, and they did a fantastic job! The next day, Grace Bible Church brought Gingerbread-Graham Cracker houses for each child to decorate. All of the kids thoroughly enjoyed using their creativity in their favorite medium – CANDY! To end the week, each child cashed in their voucher to buy a present for a friend. They shopped, wrapped, and included a note saying what they liked about that person, then exchanged gifts. As tradition, Mr. David shared the beautiful message of God’s gift to us – Christ coming to earth to die for our sins. Please pray that the gospel would take root in their hearts this very Christmas.
