Hurricane Harvey has devastated much of Houston and surrounding communities. The neighbors of Agape have been affected through rising water and have been cut off from many services and resources. Normally, Agape uses a development, capacity building approach to addressing economic poverty: create opportunities, assist with job placement, and develop leaders. However, in a crisis situation, relief aid is the most appropriate form of assistance: immediate provision of the basic necessities of shelter, food, water, clothing, diapers, etc.
For this season, Agape Development will provide relief services to its participating neighbors, and we are seeking to meet emergency needs of food, water, and personal items.
Many of you have asked how you can help, and while offers to bring us resources are appreciated, online donations give us the flexibility to acquire resources immediately. If you would like to make a gift toward those efforts, please use this link http://relief.agapedevelopment.org.
As always, pray for leadership in our community to rise to the challenges, and join us in praying for so many communities that are suffering from the devastation of this hurricane.
