On June 9th, 2010, Agape Development Ministries brought a group of neighborhood youths to enjoy a Disney children’s play at Herman Park’s Miller Outdoor Theatre. Wednesday morning Agape staff and volunteers loaded up a group of 14 children and went to the theatre to watch Disney’s ‘My Son Pinocchio Jr.’
The children enjoyed a morning of entertainment at the park, ate snacks during the show that Agape staff had prepared, and played with bubbles and frisbees in the park afterwards as they waited for the cars to arrive.
Several of the children commented that they enjoyed the show, the props, and the effects that the production had utilized, and they discussed the themes of the play on the ride back with the 6 volunteers who came to hellp chaperone.
Agape has planned weekly youth outings on Wednesday mornings and afternoons throughout the summer. Feel free to contact us if you’re available and interested in helping with transportation or supervision.
