Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. sacrificed everything to serve for the sake of the gospel and our country. In his honor, Second Baptist School dedicates MLK Day to service to the broader community of Houston. This year, Agape partnered with the first graders to provide school supplies for the children of the Third Ward. Many families cannot afford school supplies which makes basic homework assignments frustrating. Imagine being asked to cut our shapes or attach pictures without scissors and glue!
Students brought pens, pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, and erasers to assemble into individual bags for kids in our ministry. Additionally, they wrote and colored cards of encouragement to the recipient. This was a great time to learn that children are not too young to serve.
