Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 5:15, children aged five to ten come to Backyard Bible Club to experience structure, find safety, and encounter the Lord Jesus. Through Sean Stewart’s leadership of our 2010/2011 children’s ministries, Agape has established a predictable routine that consists of small groups, Bible story, crafts, games, chore-time, and healthy snacks. Volunteers and staff lead the children through The Jesus Storybook Bible, and we just crossed the Red Sea with Moses!

The establishment of a rewards system in Backyard Bible Club encourages healthy interaction and maintains a safe, nurturing environment. Through practicing respect, obedience, and peaceful conflict resolution, children can earn points towards special rewards, such as going out for ice cream or to the Children’s Museum.  On average, 15 children attend the program every session, and each one desperately needs individual attention, like any normal child.

.

We thank God for our committed volunteers who make such an impact on the kids, and we need even more volunteers to shape the social, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development of our Third Ward kids.

Would you consider helping in one of three ways?

  • Commit to the joy of crafts, games, and Bible story weekly.
  • Provide healthy snacks for 15 kids on a Tuesday or Thursday.
  • Sponsor a child’s good behavior reward with gift certificates or donations.
