Volunteers have been a huge blessing to Agape Development Ministries since its inception in the form of guest speakers, mentors, drivers, chaperons, and even administrative help. In Agape, we are very careful and strategic in how volunteers serve the neighborhood. We are excited about volunteers who desire their time to empower a neighborhood, and everyone’s experience improves with a long term relationship with the residents of the community.

The following is a list of current Agape volunteer opportunities:

Agape is trying to move into a new space that is an old convenience store. This building will serve as Agape’s new office and Community Center. Lots of work is needed for this. It will be a project that includes plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, painting, landscaping etc.

Plumbers – installation of kitchen, 2 bathrooms
Electricians – wiring for 2300 sq ft building

After School Tutor, Monday through Thursdays 3:00-5:00pm, during the school year

Program Overview: Many children in our neighborhood wander unsupervised after school. The goal of our after school program is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the children of our neighborhood to enter after school in which they can encounter Jesus’ love, engage in academic and enrichment activities, and practice respect, obedience, and peaceful conflict resolution.

Outing Chaperones, Friday afternoons during the school year

Position Overview: Outing Chaperones will transport and accompany children to fun events on Friday afternoons. Examples of outings would be trips to the children’s museum, to the movies, or to go get ice cream. If you have an idea for an activity or outing, creativity and suggestions are welcome!
