Volunteers have been a huge blessing to Agape Development Ministries since its inception in the form of guest speakers, mentors, drivers, chaperons, and even administrative help. In Agape, we are very careful and strategic in how volunteers serve the neighborhood. We are excited about volunteers who desire their time to empower a neighborhood, and everyone’s experience improves with a long term relationship with the residents of the community.

The following is a list of current Agape volunteer opportunities:
Backyard Bible Club exists to provide the children of the neighborhood surrounding Agape Development with appropriate, nurturing, consistent adult attention. Agape provides a structured, active, fun environment while still learning important life lessons: following God, the importance of learning, staying active, and being respectful. BBC averages 20 children a day. Volunteers assist with tutoring and activities Mondays thru Thursdays from 3:15pm-5:00pm during the school year. Volunteers can set the days and frequency of their schedule.
Agape Sports Programs Boys’ Basketball is underway and we have two teams playing this session! We encourage anyone who is available to attend the games to cheer on our teams. Games are played at the West Orem YMCA. Please email volunteer@agapedevelopment.org for the schedule.
Summer Short Courses – Agape Development Ministries continues to engage the neighborhood youth during the summer months. One way we do this is to provide a structured camp-like program that offers the children a consistent course in a particular area such as art, dance, science, music, games, sports, computers, etc. Our volunteers’ special skills and interests are a great way to expose the children to new ideas and concepts. Summer program will run Monday through Thursday, June 11 – July 19.
§ Monday through Wednesday’s program hours will be 1:00 – 4:00pm. From 1:00 – 3:00, Agape will lead the youth in group games, worship, crafts, and snacks. Specialized classes will be offered from 3:00 – 4:00. Volunteers are needed for various times and duties.
1) Have something you’d love to share? Pick a week (or more!) and teach a class from 3:00 – 4:00, Monday through Wednesday.
2) Want to volunteer AND teach a class? Help Agape staff and Interns from 1:00 – 3:00, and then teach a class from 3:00 – 4:00.
3) Want to help out, but don’t feel called to lead a class? Pick a week (or more!) and be a great support to us!
§ Thursdays are field trip days; the hours will be approximately 9:00 – noon. Drivers and chaperones are needed to ensure that all our neighborhood children who want to participate are able. Volunteers may bring their own children, but they must have room to transport a few others as well.
